Skill-based action RPG based on Slavic folklore
Bylina is an action-adventure fantasy role-playing game that takes inspiration from Slavic folklore and mythology. As the player, you take on the role of a young warrior named Falconet, who’s going on a quest to challenge Koschei the Deathless and save your immortal soul.
Set in the fictional lands of Far Far Kingdom, Bylina has a dark, mystical art style with a great soundtrack that benefits from its 3D top-down perspective. You can also learn new skills and access better weaponry as you level up, and even fully customize your character for adventure.
The journey starts here
Bylina puts you in the shoes of Falconet, who dreams of following in the footsteps of his father, a fabled bogatyr or knight. Unlike his father, Falconet is underestimated by everyone in his community. Determined to prove them wrong, he finds himself in the Far Far Kingdom where he is easily killed until he is revived by a mysterious spirit who now shares his body.
You are faced with three challenging tasks: reclaim control over your soul, uncover a deep mystery about your new companion, and save the world from an imminent threat. The journey starts in the Land of Cities and goes through other fantastical places. You are free to go anywhere and unlock new areas depending on what path you choose — meeting strange locals and challenges, treasures, and puzzles waiting to be solved.
As you progress, you can learn new spells and better techniques by engaging in combat against common thieves and vicious creatures on your journey. You can use short and long-ranged weapons to rare types of armor that can be found or crafted. Take note that the game features graphic imagery and violence such as blood, gore, or dismemberment and there’s no way to tone down or remove these details when playing.
A mature action-adventure experience
Bylina is an exciting RPG game that challenges you to become creative with your battles. It has a great soundtrack and art style that helps you immerse deep in exploration and doesn’t require you to follow the linear storyline firsthand. However, the gore and violence may be excessive to some, but if you’re fine with that, you’ll be treated to a fun experience.
